The Mechanical Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing the acquisition of the Mechanical portfolio at Canadian Pacific Railway, ensuring a steady supply of materials, assets, and services essential for operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a substantial portfolio with an annual expenditure of approximately $500M for the Mechanical division
  • Formulate and execute strategic sourcing plans
  • Negotiate and establish contract agreements
  • Supervise the execution of these agreements
  • Evaluate bids and proposals, while developing alternative solutions
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and ensure service continuity
  • Propose sourcing strategies aimed at minimizing total ownership costs
  • Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliers

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 2-5 years of experience in procurement and sourcing
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with knowledge of SAP and ARIBA
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
