VCH is seeking a Combined Lab & Radiology Technologist (CLXT) to contribute to the Clinical Laboratory team. This role is pivotal in providing essential services in both laboratory and radiology departments.
Responsibilities of the Combined Lab & Radiology Technologist (CLXT) include:
Performing routine technical duties, ensuring compliance with standards, conducting quality control, maintaining equipment, scheduling patient appointments, and resolving everyday challenges in both the x-ray and laboratory settings. Adhering to the Diagnostic Accreditation Program (DAP) standards.About the Community
This position is located in a picturesque island community in British Columbia, known for its stunning natural surroundings, including channels, inlets, and lush forests. The area is rich in wildlife, offering opportunities for outdoor activities such as kayaking, fishing, hiking, and photography.
The healthcare facility features acute care beds, long-term care beds, and a fully operational emergency department, along with laboratory and diagnostic imaging services. It also provides telehealth services and specialty clinics, supported by a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Completion of a recognized Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist/Technician Program. Experience or formal training in transfusion medicine. Eligibility for membership with relevant professional organizations.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with colleagues and patients. Physical capability to perform the duties associated with the position. Excellent organizational skills. Proficiency in operating related equipment. Effective problem-solving abilities.Additional Information
Work hours, including days off and work areas, may vary based on operational needs. Successful candidates may be required to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
