Job Description: The Technical Director will oversee all technical aspects of Equinox Game's projects, ensuring that technical deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This role requires a deep understanding of both the technical and creative sides of production, acting as a bridge between the two to achieve project goals. The Technical Director will lead the technical team, manage resources, and collaborate closely with other departments to ensure seamless integration and execution of technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy: Lead the technical team, providing clear direction and ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals. Develop and implement technical strategies that support overall project objectives.
- Technical Oversight: Oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of technical processes and systems. Ensure all technical aspects of projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with creative, production, and management teams to integrate technical solutions seamlessly into projects. Act as the technical liaison between departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Innovation: Drive innovation within the technical team by staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies. Implement cutting-edge solutions that enhance project outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle. Provide expertise and guidance on complex technical issues, ensuring that all challenges are addressed proactively.
- HR Collaboration: Assist HR in the hiring process for technical staff, including evaluating candidates and making recommendations. Participate in the evaluation process of current employees to ensure continued growth and alignment with project goals.
- Team Development: Mentor and support the growth of technical team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a relevant domain, with at least 2 published multiplayer games.
- Proven experience as a Technical Director or in a similar senior technical leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of industry-specific technologies, e.g., game engines, software development, etc.
- Strong understanding of the intersection between technology and creativity.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with budgeting, resource allocation, and project management.
