Technical Director

As a Technical Design Director at 2K, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between design vision and technical implementation. With a deep understanding of our technology and a bird's eye view of the project, you will provide expert guidance, tools, and support to drive game development towards success.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with core team members to develop the overall technical vision and determine feasibility of technical solutions.
- Assess existing tools and design custom ones to support design pipelines and workflows.
- Train team members on tools and techniques, and raise awareness of new processes.
- Assist content creators with technical needs and facilitate communication between design and programming teams.
- Maintain technical documentation, including procedures and how-to guides.
- Prepare post-mortems and recommend ways to improve game development processes.
- Participate in recruitment to build and grow the technical design team.
- College diploma in Game Design or equivalent (undergraduate degree an asset).
- At least 7 years of experience in the video game industry or related field, with 3 years of leadership experience.
- In-depth knowledge of game engines (e.g. Unity or Unreal) and their limitations.
- Familiarity with bug tracking software (e.g. Jira) and version management systems.
- Critical thinking, time management, and organizational capabilities.
