We are currently seeking a:

Mechanical Site Supervisor

The Mechanical Site Supervisor will oversee self-performed mechanical projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule and within budget, in collaboration with the Project Manager and Site Superintendent.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety regulations, policies, and procedures in daily operations.
  • Review and consistently monitor Job Safety Analysis (JSA's) prepared by foremen to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among the Mechanical Division, Formwork Crews, Electrical Subcontractors, and the Site Superintendent and Project Manager.
  • Maintain clear communication with Owners, Architects, Suppliers, and Consultants.
  • Direct the activities of Kenaidan Mechanical Crews and subcontractors on-site.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to the Crews regarding their performance.
  • Ensure the quality of mechanical work executed on-site.
  • Keep accurate records of cost codes and be familiar with current and projected costs, verifying and auditing site expenses against the budget.
  • Identify and manage potential design and construction issues.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and Mechanical Estimating team to develop and maintain the overall project schedule for Mechanical work, ensuring coordination with the Site Superintendent and Project Manager.
  • Create a three-week work schedule and assist mechanical subcontractors in planning their tasks, providing guidance as necessary.
  • Coordinate equipment and workforce to meet scheduling requirements.
  • Assist the Project Manager in preparing monthly billing and trade billings.
  • Code, verify, and approve time sheets, purchase orders, and work authorizations.
  • Identify potential additional work with the Project Manager and track as necessary.
  • Participate in regular trade and safety meetings, ensuring that minutes are recorded, distributed, and posted.
  • Maintain a daily job site diary.
  • Provide weekly reports on labor costs.
  • Monitor and ensure the availability of as-built drawings.
  • Actively manage the punch list and ensure completion.
  • Assist in developing site logistics, including site access and laydown areas, ensuring adequate temporary facilities, enforcing housekeeping standards, and providing dewatering and slope control as needed.
  • Continuously review Contract Drawings to identify discrepancies across various disciplines.
  • Review and approve process pipe and spool drawings.

Qualifications:

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in construction, with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity.
  • College Diploma or relevant trade certification.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide leadership to staff and subcontractors.
  • Proficient in computer applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiar with scheduling software, plumbing codes, and estimating.
  • Strong technical understanding related to the construction industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively engage with crews, trades, and suppliers.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation pertinent to the construction industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and trade contractor scopes.
