About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team at Matrix Metal Inc. as a key member of our construction division. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing accurate and detailed estimates for construction projects, ensuring that our company remains competitive in the market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Detailed Estimates: Develop and maintain accurate and detailed estimates for construction projects, including labour and material costs, to ensure that our company remains competitive.
  • Operate CADD and Other Software Systems: Utilize computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software and other relevant systems to prepare estimates and manage project data.
  • Provide Economic Feasibility Studies: Conduct economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects to ensure that they align with our company's goals and objectives.
  • Project Cash Flow and Financing Requirements: Analyze and prepare cash flow and financing requirements for projects to ensure that our company has the necessary resources to complete them.
  • Create and Submit Estimate Reports: Develop and submit detailed estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms to stakeholders, including clients and project managers.
  • Monitor and Adjust Contract Expenditures: Monitor and adjust contract expenditures to ensure that they align with our company's budget and financial goals.
  • Prepare and Maintain Directory of Supplies and Trade Contractors: Develop and maintain a directory of suppliers and trade contractors to ensure that our company has access to the necessary resources and expertise.
  • Liaise with Stakeholders: Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure that estimates and project requirements are met.
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints and Specifications: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure that estimates and project requirements are accurate and complete.
