Job Summary

CareerBeacon is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Store Leader to join our team. As an Assistant Store Leader, you will play a key role in driving sales and profitability, while providing exceptional customer service and leading a team of sales associates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide Customers with a convenient and enjoyable shopping experience by meeting their project needs quickly and fully.
  • Leadership: Work with the Store Manager to develop strategies and objectives to drive sales and profitability, and provide leadership to Associates to execute these strategies successfully.
  • Operations: Ensure sufficient scheduling to meet customer demand in all areas of responsibility, and train Associates to provide quality customer service.
  • Recruitment and Development: Recruit and place Sales Associates with the appropriate skills for special order/installs, and develop Associates through coaching, training, and feedback.
  • Store Events: Ensure that store events are appropriately scheduled and communicated, and that all Special Order/Install Customers are satisfied with their products or services.
  • Departmental Sales Goals: Set departmental sales goals and monitor them regularly, and drive productivity on the sales floor by balancing the number of associates to the customer demand throughout the store.
  • Communication: Communicate store and Home Depot objectives to associates, and provide clear career paths for associates.
  • Turnover Reduction: Take appropriate actions to minimize turnover in all customer service areas.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Maintain department profitability through report analysis, identifying trends, defining problems, and developing appropriate responses for assigned departments and store.
  • Safety and Security: Follow standard operating procedures to open and close the store when scheduled, and respond to emergency situations appropriately.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of management experience, and 1 year of experience in a retail environment.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service skills, good communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong work ethic, sense of responsibility, and attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
