Job Summary

The Payroll and HR Administrator will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all payroll functions, including bi-weekly payroll processing for 380 employees in Canada. This role requires a high level of professionalism and confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of the work performed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process payroll transactions such as new hires, terminations, transfers, employee changes, adjustments, etc.
  • Ensure current and accurate data is in place within the payroll systems, payroll grid, and Global HRIS
  • Verify and check pay reports
  • Liaise with finance department regarding cash requirements, bank debits, JE, etc.
  • Manage accrued vacation, sick, and other benefits
  • Train new managers and supervisors on payroll systems and company policies
  • Handle garnishments and prepare various reports for management review
  • Support managers in preparing payroll budgets and verifying total salary and benefits budget
  • Group Benefit Administration, including processing invoices and updating employee profiles
  • Workers Compensation and EHT, including preparation of monthly and quarterly remittances

Requirements

  • College diploma in business administration, finance, or related field of study
  • Working towards Certified Payroll Management certification is considered an asset
  • 2-3 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • High level of planning and organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Accuracy, numeracy, and attention to detail
  • Customer-focused and process improvement driven
