Payroll and HR Administrator

Job Summary
The Payroll and HR Administrator will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all payroll functions, including bi-weekly payroll processing for 380 employees in Canada. This role requires a high level of professionalism and confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of the work performed.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll transactions such as new hires, terminations, transfers, employee changes, adjustments, etc.
- Ensure current and accurate data is in place within the payroll systems, payroll grid, and Global HRIS
- Verify and check pay reports
- Liaise with finance department regarding cash requirements, bank debits, JE, etc.
- Manage accrued vacation, sick, and other benefits
- Train new managers and supervisors on payroll systems and company policies
- Handle garnishments and prepare various reports for management review
- Support managers in preparing payroll budgets and verifying total salary and benefits budget
- Group Benefit Administration, including processing invoices and updating employee profiles
- Workers Compensation and EHT, including preparation of monthly and quarterly remittances
Requirements
- College diploma in business administration, finance, or related field of study
- Working towards Certified Payroll Management certification is considered an asset
- 2-3 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of planning and organization
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Accuracy, numeracy, and attention to detail
- Customer-focused and process improvement driven
