POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking an experienced Intermediate/Senior Compression Project Engineer – Package. This role involves working closely with our engineering team to design, develop, and execute Gas Compression and Refrigeration packages. As a subject matter expert, you will report to the Package Engineering Supervisor and ensure the quality and integrity of product design, including the responsibility for stamping drawings when necessary. Your role will require collaboration with cross-functional teams to foster innovative design solutions, conduct detailed analyses to enhance package efficiency, and comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Package Engineering (50%):

  • Oversee the completion of compressor design tasks, including simulations for pipe sizing and equipment blow-down rates.
  • Prepare 3D models, general arrangements, structural drawings, and spool drawings according to specifications.
  • Lead in-house 3D model review meetings, ensuring adherence to design review protocols.
Package Design Coordination:
  • Draft P&IDs and manage the review process with designers and clients.
  • Delegate tasks related to pressure safety valves and control valves to the engineering team.
  • Coordinate with structural engineers for final approval on design aspects.
Technical Communication:
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technologists.
  • Facilitate communication across departments to resolve design and fabrication challenges.
Project Management (35%):
  • Review project specifications and ensure compliance with client requirements.
  • Maintain project schedules and oversee the timely completion of engineering deliverables.
  • Assist in project change order management and documentation.
Quality Control (20%):
  • Ensure the integrity of product design and compliance with quality standards.
  • Supervise third-party engineering work and validate their outputs.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:
  • Incorporate lessons learned from previous projects into current engineering practices.
  • Stay informed about advancements in packaging design and technology.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng) is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in compression and refrigeration packaging.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering standards and codes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
