Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Accommodation Planning Manager to join our team at the Toronto District School Board. As a key member of our Strategy and Planning Department, you will play a critical role in providing leadership and expertise in accommodation planning, enrolment projections, and facility utilization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of planners, ensuring the effective management of accommodation studies and enrolment projections.
  • Develop and implement the TDSB's Long-Term Program and Accommodation Strategy, working closely with the Senior Manager, Planning.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including Principals, Superintendents, Trustees, and members of the public, to provide advice and guidance on accommodation planning and strategy.
  • Manage and oversee the completion of accommodation studies, including the design of consultation processes.
  • Assist in strategic planning for the Strategy and Planning Department, identifying strategic issues and developing action plans to address them.
  • Represent the TDSB at public meetings, responding to inquiries and providing insight and perspective.
  • Provide leadership in fostering equity and inclusiveness in the development and implementation of programs and services.
Qualifications
  • University degree in Urban Planning or a related field, with seven years of progressively responsible experience in a senior planning role.
  • Membership with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) and the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP).
  • Strong understanding of program and accommodation planning support, as well as municipal/education planning functions and public policy.
  • Extensive experience in research, data management, data analysis, report writing, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
