Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accommodation Planning Manager to join our team at the Toronto District School Board. As a key member of our Strategy and Planning Department, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our schools and ensuring that our facilities meet the needs of our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Provide guidance, technical expertise, and oversight to a team of Planners.
    • Lead the team in the annual process to produce enrolment projections, forecasts, and facility capacities.
  • Accommodation Studies and Planning
    • Oversee the completion of accommodation studies, including the designing of consultation processes.
    • Work with the Senior Manager to develop and implement the TDSB's Long-Term Program and Accommodation Strategy each year.
  • Strategic Planning and Advice
    • Assist in strategic planning for the Strategy and Planning Department, including identifying strategic issues and developing and recommending appropriate action plans.
    • Provide advice and guidance to Principals, Superintendents, Trustees, and members of the public on key areas of responsibilities.
  • Project Management and Coordination
    • Manage and provide leadership support in the day-to-day operations in the areas of actual enrolment, projected enrolment, facility utilization, facility capacity, school boundaries, pupil accommodation studies, public consultation processes, and project management.
    • Oversee the implementation of the TDSB's Long-Term Program and Accommodation Strategy, identifying short and long-term directions for school facilities.
  • Reporting and Communication
    • Prepare reports for senior management and Board approval.
    • Represent the TDSB at public meetings, responding to inquiries, providing insight and perspective, facilitating discussions, and managing conflicts.
