Nursing Specialist in Treatment Services

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Woodland Wellness Centre is seeking qualified individuals for positions within the Treatment Department:
Treatment Nurse (LPN, RN, RPN, Psychiatric Nurse)
- 1 – Part-Time
- 1 – Casual
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering specialized nursing care to participants at the Woodland Wellness Centre;
- Assessing participant progress and modifying care plans based on nursing evaluations;
- Executing nursing treatments and procedures as prescribed by the physician, including sterile dressings, injections, medication administration, and monitoring vital signs;
- Recording medications in the medication administration record (MAR) and updating it weekly;
- Creating comprehensive care plans and continuously monitoring and adjusting participant care;
- Upholding participant confidentiality in accordance with Lac La Ronge Indian Band policies;
- Documenting relevant information in participants' health records;
- Acting as an advocate for participants and serving as a liaison between community programs and LLRIB;
- Collaborating with Woodland Wellness Centre team members and other healthcare professionals as necessary;
- Providing participants with information and resources to enhance their safety and well-being upon returning home;
- Adhering to policies, standards, procedures, and nursing practices as outlined in Saskatchewan First Nations Guidelines for Home Care Nursing;
- Explaining existing programs and services to participants;
- Promoting health education by delivering presentations on addiction and recovery;
- Assisting in the development and review of policies and procedures, and presenting them as required;
- Performing other related duties as assigned by the Immediate Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Registered with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Saskatchewan (CLPNS) or CRNS or RPNAS;
- In good standing with the respective nursing regulatory body;
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience is required;
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team;
- Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision;
- Proficiency in Cree is considered an asset;
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License and have access to a reliable vehicle;
- Must provide a recent satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and SGI Driver's Abstract.
