About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Financial Services Specialist to join our team at Embark Behavioral Health. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will play a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, collection of payments, and maintaining accurate records and reporting on collection activities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient financial responsibility calls to educate families on the invoicing process and obtain credit card or ACH information for tuition invoices and copays/deductibles.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, collection of payments, and maintenance of accurate records and reporting on collection activities.
  • Communicate with customers via phone and email to follow up on payments and negotiate with clients in non-payment cases to resolve billing and customer credit issues.
  • Monitor assigned accounts to identify overdue payments, issue refunds on overpayments, process and review adjustments, and reduce delinquency.
  • Partner with the billing team to ensure timely billing to third-party payors and engage in the cash application process to ensure accurate and timely application of cash receipts.

Requirements

  • Prior work experience in Accounts Receivable, preferably in a medical or behavioral healthcare environment.
  • Medical billing background a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Windows-based applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software and familiarity with MS Excel to include strong analytical skills.
  • Strong and professional communication skills, skilled in negotiation and problem-solving aptitude, patience, and ability to manage stress and maintain confidentiality.
  • High School/GED required, Associate degree preferred.
