Automation & Programming Specialist

Career Opportunity at CDN Controls ULC

We are a leading provider of control system integration and automation services, and we are currently seeking an experienced Automation & Programming Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, upgrade, migrate, and install SCADA, PLC, and HMI hardware for projects related to general maintenance or new construction facilities, including logic design and network configuration.
  • Apply PLC logic and related automation networks.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance support for clients and hands-on development for construction-based projects.
  • Prepare devices and I/O lists, as well as construction support and commissioning assistance.

Requirements:

  • Journeyman Instrument Mechanic/Electrician with extensive automation experience.
  • ~5-10 years of experience with Delta V and/or Allen Bradley Control Systems.
  • Previous experience with VTScada, Rockwell Automation, Emerson Automation, Industrial Networks, and SCADA would be a strong asset.
  • ~Post Secondary Diploma in either Instrument Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automated System Engineering Technology, or a Degree in Electrical Engineering (EIT OR P.Eng) is an asset.
  • ~Valid Driver's license.
  • ~Strong interpersonal skills, building positive and strong relationships with staff and clients.
  • ~Ability to mentor junior colleagues.
  • ~Familiarity with IT SCADA architectural standards.
  • ~Highly proficient in Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows Server 8.
