Job Summary

CDCN Controls is seeking a highly skilled Automation & Programmer (Control System Specialist) to join our Exile team in Fort St. John. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems for industrial automation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, upgrade, migrate, and install SCADA, PLC, and HMI hardware for projects related to general maintenance or new construction facilities.
  • Apply PLC logic and related automation networks.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance support for clients and hands-on development for construction-based projects.
  • Prepare devices and I/O lists as well as construction support and commissioning assistance.
Requirements
  • Journeyman Instrument Mechanic/Electrician with extensive Automation experience.
  • 5-10 years of experience with Delta V and/or Allen Bradley Controls Systems. Previous experience with VTScada, Rockwell Automation, Emerson Automation, Industrial Networks, and SCADA would be a strong asset.
  • Post Secondary Diploma in either Instrument Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automated System Engineering Technology, or a Degree in Electrical Engineering (EIT OR P.Eng) is an asset.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, building positive and strong relationships with staff and clients.
  • Ability to mentor junior colleagues.
  • Familiarity with IT SCADA architectural standards.
  • Highly proficient in Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows Server 8.
  • Demonstrated organizational and documentation skills.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • An analytical thinker with a logical thought process.
