Position Overview:

Role: Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter

Employment Type: Full-time

Work Location: CNRL Horizon – Camp Projects

Work Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off

Key Responsibilities:

Bouchier is in search of a skilled and versatile Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter to enhance our team for camp project operations. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in plumbing and a willingness to engage in project work, contributing to the maintenance and success of our camp facilities. As a Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter, your responsibilities will include:

  • Interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to establish the layout for Natural Gas distribution systems.
  • Installing underground polyethylene piping, above-ground carbon steel piping, fittings, pressure gauges, and pipe supports to facilitate the transport of natural gas from the tie-in point to individual structures.
  • Staying informed about current safety regulations and training related to the various natural gas systems managed by the company.
  • Identifying and marking locations for pipe connections and passage openings in walls.
  • Creating openings in walls and floors to accommodate piping and fittings.
  • Measuring and cutting pipes utilizing both hand and power tools.
  • Threading pipes and joining them using mechanical couplings.
  • Conducting leak tests on pipes using air and water pressure gauges.
  • Preparing cost estimates as necessary.
  • Completing work orders efficiently.
  • Providing mentorship and support to apprentices as needed, along with other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Red Seal or Alberta certified Journeyman Plumber certificate is mandatory.
  • Journeyman Gas Fitter Class A or B certification is preferred.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License is required.
  • CSTS and OSSA Regional Orientation or OSSA BSO (Basic Safety Orientation) certification is necessary.
  • Extensive experience in gas fitting is essential.
  • Proficiency in threading techniques is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience with DR11 Poly gas line is advantageous.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in an industrial oilfield setting is preferred.
  • A High School Diploma is desirable.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of plumbing system maintenance and repairs.
  • Strong mathematical, scientific, mechanical, and logical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Fluency in spoken, written, and reading English is required.
  • All candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
