Position Overview:

Role: Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter

Employment Type: Full-time

Work Schedule: 14 days on / 14 days off

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage plumbing renovations in residential dormitories.
  • Conduct routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify and address issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to reduce plumbing failures.
  • Ensure all renovation work complies with applicable building codes and regulations.
  • Install or replace piping systems as required for renovations or repairs.
  • Interpret blueprints to determine the layout of plumbing systems.
  • Utilize appropriate tools and techniques for cutting, threading, and joining pipes.
  • Conduct pressure tests to verify the integrity of plumbing installations.
  • Maintain water supply systems, including tanks and pumps, within dormitory facilities.
  • Address water quality and pressure issues effectively.
  • Install and maintain sewage and drainage systems for efficient wastewater management.
  • Document all work performed, including repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Respond to plumbing emergencies to mitigate damage and ensure safety.
  • Adhere to safety protocols during all plumbing operations.
  • Provide mentorship and support to apprentices as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Red Seal or Alberta certified Journeyman Plumber certification is mandatory.
  • Journeyman Gas Fitter Class A or B certification is required.
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO) certification is necessary.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record is essential.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial oilfield setting is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in gas fitting is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of plumbing maintenance and repair practices.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent mathematical and logical reasoning abilities.
  • Proficient troubleshooting skills.
  • All candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
