We are seeking a Temporary Educational Assistant to support students with exceptional needs in our Elementary and Secondary schools. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in creating positive, welcoming, and safe learning environments where every child can achieve success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with exceptional needs in a variety of settings, including classrooms and special education programs
  • Assist with lesson planning and implementation, as needed
  • Provide individualized support to students, including academic and behavioral support
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Secondary school diploma and two-year or three-year Community College Diploma in a related field, such as Child & Youth Care, Educational Assistant, or Developmental Services Worker
  • 1-2 years of related experience working with school-aged special needs children
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, transferring, toileting, and diapering procedures, as required
  • Current Behaviour Management Systems, First Aid, and CPR training is an asset
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team setting
  • An understanding and commitment to confidentiality
  • An awareness and appreciation of Catholic Education and the Board's Mission Statement
  • A valid driver's license is required
