About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Planner to join our team at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. As a key member of our transportation planning team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of urban mobility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement transportation plans that promote sustainable and equitable mobility solutions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify transportation needs and develop strategies to address them
  • Conduct transportation studies and analyses to inform planning decisions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with transportation agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in transportation planning
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in transportation planning, including experience with traffic operations studies, traffic signals, transit priority, and meso/microsimulation modeling
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
  • Experience with transportation planning software and tools, including Synchro, Aimsun, and Vissim
  • Strong knowledge of transportation planning principles, policies, and best practices
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with pedestrian simulation modeling for transit stations and other public facilities
  • Experience with projects involving LRT, BRT, or subway/heavy rail
  • Familiarity with planning policies and guiding documents in the Greater Toronto Area
  • Experience working on MTO, Metrolinx, TTC, York Region, Peel Region, Durham Region, or City of Toronto projects
