Position Overview: The Regional Supervisor for Child and Family Services is a pivotal role that oversees operations in various locations and reports directly to the Regional Manager. This position is integral in guiding a dedicated team of Family and Community Social Workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support a team of Family and Community Social Workers across multiple regions.
  • Engage in the duties of Family and Community Social Workers as necessary, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Act as a representative for the Regional Manager when required, covering responsibilities for other supervisors as needed.

Professional Approach: The Supervisor is expected to adopt a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and strengths-based methodology. This role necessitates respectful and humble interactions with clients, families, community members, and colleagues.

After-Hours Support: Regular after-hours supervision for Family and Community Social Workers is a requirement, along with providing assistance to other regions and authorities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work with three years of relevant experience, including at least one year in a supervisory role, or
  • A diploma in social work with five years of related experience, including two years in a supervisory capacity.

Completion of a Master in Social Work is considered an asset. Candidates must meet the GNWT Professional Registered Social Worker Requirement and be eligible for appointment as a Child Protection Worker.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector check.
  • Proof of current immunization status is required.
  • Current registration with the GNWT Professional Licensing Registrar as a Social Worker is mandatory.
