The New Goodwill Transport Ltd. is seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Load and Unload Goods: Safely load and unload goods from trucks, ensuring that all cargo is secure and properly stowed.
- Operate Heavy Vehicles: Drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of your vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage equipment.
- Emergency Response: Perform emergency roadside repairs and respond to unexpected situations in a safe and professional manner.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent mechanical issues and ensure the reliability of your vehicle.
- Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring that all parties are informed of any issues or delays.
- Record Keeping: Accurately record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Cargo Security: Ensure the safety and security of cargo by properly tarping and securing it during transport.
- Air Brake (Z) Endorsement: Possess a valid Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
- Driver's License: Hold a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
- Work Term: Work on a permanent basis.
- Work Language: Fluency in English is required.
- Hours of Work: Work 40 to 60 hours per week.
