Surgical Instrument Processor

Your Role:
As a vital member of the surgical team, you will contribute to the operations of a premier Adult Quaternary Level 1 Trauma Centre. Our facility is equipped with 32 operating rooms, delivering surgical care throughout the year. You will collaborate with a diverse group of professionals, including Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Perioperative RNs, ORTs, and other essential support staff. Our commitment to excellence allows us to serve over 22,000 patients annually, ensuring the highest standards of surgical care.
Key Responsibilities:
In your capacity as a Surgical Processor, your primary duties will include:
- Decontaminating, reassembling, and sterilizing surgical instruments and medical supplies.
- Adhering to aseptic techniques and Universal Precautions to prevent Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI).
- Ensuring all surgical tools and equipment are functioning correctly.
- Conducting biological, chemical, and quality assurance tests, while promptly reporting any issues to your supervisor.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program.
- Certification from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or the Canadian Standards Association (CSA).
Preferred Experience:
Previous exposure to the Operating Room environment is advantageous and will enhance your ability to succeed in this position.
