Surgical Veterinary Technician Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Veterinary Support Assistant to join our Surgery Department at Western Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Centre. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional support to our veterinarians and animal health technicians in delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and animal health technicians with daily tasks and patient care, ensuring the highest level of animal welfare and safety.
- Perform proper restraint techniques to facilitate patient assessment and treatment.
- Assist with sample collection, radiography, and preparation for surgery and other procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized hospital environment, adhering to strict hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Perform administrative tasks, including client communication, filing, and faxing.
- Clean and maintain surgical suites and autoclave instruments.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting, preferably in surgery or a related field.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work a 40-hour, 4-day compressed work week.
