International Wealth Management Credit Risk Leader

About This Role
As a Director, International Wealth Management Credit Risk, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the credit risk strategy for our growing international wealth management portfolio. You'll be responsible for fostering a customer-centric culture within your team, collaborating with key stakeholders, and ensuring sound lending practices that drive profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate a client-focused environment within your team, leveraging the Bank's extensive resources and expertise to deepen client relationships.
- Collaborate closely with International Private Banking on credit risk appetite, transaction approvals, and the development of a robust risk culture within the business line.
- Partner with International Private Banking to streamline policies and processes, identifying strategic growth opportunities and programs for the Wealth Management division.
- Exercise independent judgment in adjudicating credits within assigned limits as a designated Credit Officer. Provide recommendations for complex transactions exceeding these limits to the Senior Credit Committee, and authorize waivers, amendments, and non-standard documentation.
- Provide expert guidance and counsel to local credit units and International Wealth Management teams on atypical transactions, ensuring adherence to established guidelines.
- Drive profitable growth in the Wealth Management credit portfolio by making sound and timely decisions on credit applications. Conduct thorough analysis, establish appropriate structure, pricing, conditions, and security measures for each loan.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of lending policies and strategies that align with the Bank's overall risk appetite.
- Maintain a high-quality portfolio by actively monitoring assigned credits across geographic regions, industries, and customer segments. Identify potential issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure early identification and effective management of weak or unsatisfactory accounts. Alert management to emerging trends and recommend appropriate courses of action.
- Champion adherence to regulatory and internal policies throughout the credit risk process.
- Contribute to the Bank's broader success by participating in due diligence exercises for potential acquisitions and completing special projects as assigned.
- Lead your team with a strong commitment to the Bank's risk culture, reinforcing the risk appetite statement and promoting responsible risk management practices.
- Foster an environment where your team effectively manages their portfolios while adhering to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk controls.
- Cultivate a high-performing team by implementing a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates individuals. Promote an inclusive work environment and align team goals with the Bank's vision, values, and business strategy.
