Job Summary
The Building Maintenance Technician III is a key member of our facilities operations team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including mechanical and electrical systems. This role requires a strong understanding of facility operations and maintenance, as well as excellent troubleshooting and repair skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and on-demand maintenance on facility mechanical equipment and other systems.
- Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to monitor mechanical, electrical, and other equipment system performance.
- Respond to service requests and perform preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure facility uptime objectives are met.
- Assist in the implementation of preventative maintenance programs and ensure that deficiencies are identified and escalated.
- Participate in facility-related projects and ensure that work is performed in compliance with corporate and legislated policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma plus trades training and/or certification or licensing.
- Minimum 3 years' experience providing preventive and corrective maintenance on heating ventilation and air conditions systems, or pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
- Sound knowledge of processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and other building systems and equipment.
- Strong client-service orientation and a high sense of urgency.
- Knowledge and understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC Systems.
- Effective communication skills for data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
- Mentoring skills to support lower-level technician development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution.
- Provincial HVAC or apprentice license (e.g., Gasfitter I & II license, refrigeration license).
