We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Maintenance Specialist to join our team at BGIS. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling service calls, monitoring, maintaining, and repairing systems, equipment, and installations.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to assigned service calls and follow up with the property management team.
- Contribute to improving tenant satisfaction by ensuring quality workmanship.
- Inspect and maintain systems, equipment, and facilities that are not the responsibility of a specific trade.
- Coordinate contractor visits and accompany them when a third-party supplier is required.
- Make recommendations on system maintenance to improve the effectiveness of the preventive maintenance program.
- Support the operations team in carrying out other types of preventive maintenance.
- Perform or coordinate with a third-party supplier troubleshooting and repairs to systems, equipment, and facilities.
- Support the operations team in carrying out other types of repairs as needed.
- High school diploma and/or vocational training and/or certification or license.
- Good knowledge of facility operation and maintenance processes and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and other building systems and equipment.
- Strong environmental, health, and safety mindset.
- Strong customer orientation and sense of urgency.
- Effective communication skills for relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification of data.
- Ability to work shifts, be available for emergency/standby calls, and emergency calls as they arise.
- Ability to obtain appropriate security clearance.
