Job Title: Marketing & Communications Specialist

Job Summary:

The Marketing & Communications Specialist will play a key role in developing and implementing internal and external communications strategies to promote the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation's brand and mission. This includes creating engaging content, managing social media, and collaborating with the Executive Director to achieve fundraising goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement internal and external communications strategies to promote the Foundation's brand and mission.
  • Create engaging content for various platforms, including social media, email, and print materials.
  • Manage social media presence and develop a social media strategy to increase engagement and reach.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and implement fundraising strategies.
  • Manage and maintain the Foundation's website and ensure it is up-to-date and operating efficiently.
  • Develop and implement a web strategy to increase online engagement and donations.
  • Manage and maintain the Foundation's photo, video, and print archive.
  • Develop and implement a social media strategy to increase engagement and reach.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and implement a marketing budget for Foundation programs and initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or Public Relations.
  • Minimum three years of experience in communications and marketing roles.
  • Experience working with Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Advertising, SEO, and Digital Display Advertising.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and oral.
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector considered an asset.
  • Experience working with Raiser's Edge considered an asset.
  • Proficient in the use of all corporate productivity tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Canva Pro and Adobe Creative Suite considered an asset.
Work Environment:

The Marketing & Communications Specialist will work 37.5 hours per week in a hospital office environment. Occasional work outside of regular office hours will be required during periods of peak activity and at special events. Work will require travel within Elgin County and the London area.
