About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Sustainability Specialist to join our team at Henrico County. As a key member of our sustainability team, you will play a critical role in implementing and managing our county-wide energy and sustainability programs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Energy and Sustainability Program Management: Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of energy and sustainability initiatives across the county.
  2. Energy Utilization and Cost Analysis: Monitor and analyze energy utilization and costs, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing modifications to optimize energy performance.
  3. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including the Henrico Environmental Action and Resource Team (HEART), to advance sustainability goals and objectives.
  4. Energy Audits and Assessments: Conduct energy audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations for energy efficiency measures.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with diverse stakeholders, including county employees, residents, and community groups, to promote sustainability and energy efficiency practices.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A four-year degree in a relevant field, such as environmental science, sustainability, or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant professional experience in energy sustainability, environmental management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of energy management principles, including energy generation, transportation, and usage.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations for energy efficiency measures.
