Accounts Payable Manager

Clearwater Seafoods, a leading vertically integrated seafood company, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join their team in Bedford, Nova Scotia. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for supporting the Senior Finance Manager in all AP-related functions, ensuring timely and accurate transaction processing and month-end activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the team responsible for completing accounts payable transactions and processes.
- Develop, mentor, and coach the accounts payable team.
- Support the Senior Finance Manager in identifying and implementing process improvements in the procure-to-pay process.
- Work closely with the Corporate Accounting team to find synergies in transaction processing and support strategic initiatives.
- Ensure appropriate payment processes and procedures are followed.
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of invoice processing.
- Build and maintain relationships with employees and vendors.
- Review month-end GL to sub-ledger reconciliations prepared by staff.
- Coordinate and support audit requests related to accounts payable.
- Investigate and resolve vendor escalations.
- Issue and utilize regular reporting on KPIs for the department.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and project management.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- SAP user knowledge is an asset.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Ability to lead and manage teams.
- Dedicated, hardworking, and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate with senior management.
