Position Summary

Full-Time Position: 7am-7:30pm, 36 Hours

We are looking for a Registered Nurse, Acute Care who is a skilled clinician with extensive experience in patient care. This role requires a solid understanding of the specific needs of a patient population and the ability to apply knowledge, theory, and research to adapt to clinical changes. The ideal candidate will utilize the Synergy Model for Care in practice, personalizing care for each patient and family while serving as a resource for colleagues and a strong advocate for patients and families. Responsibilities include:

  • Communicating effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and healthcare team members while delivering safe and reliable care independently through the nursing process.
  • Demonstrating advanced assessment skills and understanding the impact of nursing interventions on patient outcomes.
  • Accurately documenting the nursing process in the appropriate formats (e.g., electronic records, clinical pathways) and planning and implementing patient care autonomously.
  • Incorporating patient and family input into care planning and managing time efficiently while applying the AACN Synergy Model in clinical practice, including revising policies and procedures based on evidence-based research.
  • Achieving required points and contact hours as outlined in the clinical lattice point system to maintain the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A valid, active, unencumbered Nursing license or a temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board. Graduation from an accredited nursing program with at least 12 months of recent nursing experience within the last five years or recent completion of a re-entry nursing program.
  • BLS certification is required; ACLS certification may be necessary in specific departments.
  • Exceptions apply for individuals currently employed as LPNs within the Emory Healthcare system who complete an accredited RN program and obtain RN licensure while participating in the Resident program.
Additional Information

Physical Requirements: Medium to heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs), with varying demands throughout the workday. Frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, and close visual work (computers, typing, reading, writing) are required. Physical demands may vary based on assigned work area and tasks.

Environmental Factors: Environmental conditions may vary based on assigned work area and tasks, including exposure to blood-borne pathogens, biohazardous waste, chemicals, communicable diseases, and other factors. Use of personal protective equipment is required, and travel may be necessary depending on the role.
