Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Personal Support Worker to provide essential nursing care to our patients. This role involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients during outdoor recreational activities to promote physical and mental well-being.
  • Manage personal hygiene needs, including the supply and disposal of bed pans.
  • Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Serve meals and assist patients with feeding as necessary.
  • Support patients with mobility, including lifting, turning, and positioning.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient rooms and bedding.
  • Oversee and encourage patients' exercise routines.
  • Keep track of medical supplies and inventory.
  • Provide personal grooming assistance, including bathing and dressing.
  • Transport patients safely using wheelchairs or stretchers.
  • Respond to patient call signals to address their needs promptly.
  • Collect medical specimens as required.
  • Administer first aid in case of emergencies.
Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Certificates: Valid First Aid and CPR certifications are required.
Work Environment

This position is physically demanding and requires attention to detail. The role involves a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday.

Experience

Applicants should have a minimum of 7 months of relevant experience in a similar role. This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 32 hours per week.
