Position Overview

Our Pigging & Decoking division is expanding its Operator team. You will collaborate with teams of 4-8 individuals. The role involves physical tasks related to rigging-in and rigging-out, with a significant portion of your time spent operating pigging machinery from a climate-controlled operator's cabin. Daily tasks will vary, and you may be assigned to different projects across the province and occasionally across Canada.

As a Pigging and Decoking Operator, you will assist refineries, petrochemical plants, and related industrial facilities by cleaning pipes and pipelines using hydraulically propelled mechanical pigs.

Shifts can vary widely as the work is primarily project-based, providing numerous overtime opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport equipment to and from client locations and company facilities as instructed.
  • Set up and operate specialized pigging equipment to clean systems at various facilities.
  • Provide mechanical troubleshooting support in the field to ensure pigging equipment remains operational.
  • Assist in the shop to repair and maintain equipment.
  • Complete accurate daily driving and duty logs.
  • Ensure all personal training requirements are met and maintained.
  • Maintain open communication with Supervisors, Project Managers, and Operations Managers to ensure clarity on work scope and readiness.
  • Transport hoses, PPE, and tools to work sites.
  • Complete necessary paperwork for projects and assignments.
  • Focus on detail, ensuring tasks are completed correctly and safely the first time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 1 license (manual transmission capable) with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years is required.
  • Onsite training will be provided.
  • H2S Alive and Standard First Aid certifications are beneficial but not mandatory; training can be provided.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is required, with both day and night shifts possible.

Skills:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude is advantageous but not essential.
  • Safety-conscious regarding personnel and equipment.
  • Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing stairs and lifting equipment (up to 50 pounds regularly).
  • Capable of working outdoors in challenging weather conditions.
  • Enjoys teamwork, sharing experiences with colleagues, and ensuring safety in all operations.
