Position Overview

In the role of Correspondence Clerk, you will operate under general oversight, executing tasks of moderate complexity while exercising independent judgment. A comprehensive understanding of departmental protocols, regulations, and policies is essential. Your duties will encompass administrative and clerical functions that support the operational needs of the office. Reporting directly to the Manager of Policy and Planning, you will play a vital role within the team.

Primary Duties

  • Oversee the management of incoming and outgoing correspondence, ensuring the accuracy of data
  • Maintain comprehensive records and filing systems in accordance with governmental standards
  • Prepare reports and compile necessary documentation
  • Engage with clients and suppliers through telephone communication
  • Conduct data entry and provide clerical assistance as required
  • Deliver technical support and training to junior personnel

Required Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a grade 11 education along with three years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, and a high level of accuracy in typing are critical. Additional qualifications, such as the completion of a business-related course, will be considered advantageous. Candidates will be evaluated through various assessment methods, including written tests and interviews.
