Job Summary

The Shop Supervisor is a key role within Colas Western Canada Inc. responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company's maintenance facilities. This position requires a strong leader who can effectively manage a team, prioritize tasks, and ensure the safe and efficient maintenance of company equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including the upkeep of tools and equipment.
  • Manage the processing of invoices, employee time tracking, parts orders, and customer follow-up.
  • Coordinate daily operations, including staff scheduling and repair progression.
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program.
  • Manage budgets and plans for maintenance activities, including staff, parts, schedules, and equipment.
  • Procure parts, manage inventory, and oversee fuel management through the purchase order system.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to communicate critical decisions with integrity, quality, urgency, and teamwork.
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
  • Recruit, train, discipline, and terminate employees as needed.
Requirements
  • Five years of experience in manufacturing and/or facility maintenance or operations.
  • Three years of experience in facility or construction project management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Oracle JDE experience is an asset.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Bias to action, willingness to take ownership of issues and drive to resolution.
  • Strong communication skills, bias to direct conversations before texting or email.
  • Valid class 5 driver's license.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to travel to various business units and corporate offices as required.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment if required.
  • Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Manual dexterity required to use computer and peripherals.
