In this role, Airport Operations Dispatchers play a crucial part in implementing protocols and procedures through a thorough understanding of emergency management, safety, security, maintenance, and customer relations.

Position Summary

We are offering a full-time opportunity for an Airport Operations Dispatcher (AOD) within the Airport Operations Department, under the supervision of the Operations Centre Manager. Success in this role requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing a high volume of information from various sources simultaneously. Strong verbal and written communication skills are vital for effective dispatching during both emergency situations and routine operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and utilize alarm systems, radios, telephones, emails, and social media to dispatch and coordinate operational personnel, maintenance teams, and emergency responders, ensuring continuous safety and security on Sea Island.
  • Assess priorities, delegate tasks, and communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, government entities, and stakeholders.
  • Accurately document detailed information regarding all operations on Sea Island.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Incident Command related to airside, terminal-side, and groundside processes.
  • Skillfully manage multiple tasks and emergencies simultaneously while documenting activities in Maximo.
  • Address inquiries from customers and the general public through various communication channels.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience in a dispatch or call-taking role, or relevant aviation experience, complemented by a minimum of a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required; knowledge of an additional language is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with various computer applications is essential (Maximo, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Everbridge, Barco Sidebar, Adobe, etc.), along with fast typing skills, strong grammar, and accurate spelling.
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure environments.
  • Capability to make swift decisions with limited information and prioritize tasks without direct supervision.
  • Must demonstrate confidence, resilience, strong multitasking abilities, a calm demeanor, and collaborative spirit.

Compensation: The salary range is $68,011 to $88,886 per annum, based on a 37.5-hour work week, tailored to reflect individual experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
