Job Overview:
As a vital contributor to the FM-PRO Department, the Project Manager plays a key role in leading and coordinating capital project initiatives under the guidance of the Manager, FM-PRO – Planning and Integration. We seek a dedicated professional to assist in the planning and execution of a New Patient Tower at the Toronto Western Hospital. This innovative 15-floor facility will include Surgical Services, ICU, In-Patient Units, Pharmacy, and a Medical Device Reprocessing Department. Collaborating with subject matter experts and technical teams, you will oversee project activities to ensure stakeholder engagement and successful project delivery within the defined budget and timeline.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage various project tasks in the planning and design of large-scale redevelopment initiatives from conception to implementation.
  • Act as a liaison between stakeholders and the consultant team to facilitate effective communication.
  • Oversee all project aspects including planning, coordination, tracking, evaluation, and budget management.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation including proposals, project plans, budgets, and meeting materials.
  • Monitor project progress, risks, and issues, reporting to stakeholders and escalating concerns as necessary.
  • Develop strategies for risk mitigation and resolution as appropriate.
  • Engage with stakeholders regularly to ensure alignment with evolving project requirements.
  • Coordinate meetings with multiple stakeholders, managing complex schedules and resources.
  • Prepare RFI/RFQ/RFPs for equipment procurement for various departments.
  • Develop operational readiness plans for key service areas.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Science, Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting or major institutional/public sector is preferred.
  • Familiarity with building codes and standards applicable to acute healthcare environments is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement directives and supply chain guidelines is an asset.
  • Experience with CCDC-5B Construction Management is desirable.
  • Proficient in furniture and equipment planning and procurement.
  • Experience with decanting and relocation processes is required.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in coordinating multi-stakeholder meetings, including preparation of materials and documentation.
  • Ability to respond to urgent demands and tight timelines.
