Job Summary

K-W DRYWALL SERVICES LTD. is seeking a skilled Drywall Installer and Finisher to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall in commercial and residential settings.

Responsibilities
  • Install drywall sheets, measuring, cutting, and fitting them to metal or wooden studs or joists.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry.
  • Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring.
  • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets.
  • Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings, and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath.
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied.
  • Install exterior and interior steel studs.
  • Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools.
  • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months.
  • Work site environment: At heights, cold/refrigerated, dangerous, dusty, hot, noisy, outdoors.
  • Work setting: Commercial, residential, various locations.
  • Relocation costs covered by employer.
  • Work under pressure.
  • Physically demanding.
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Walking.
  • Sound discrimination.
  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Hard hat.
  • Steel-toed safety boots.
  • Work Term: Permanent.

  • Hours: 30 hours per week.
