Key Responsibilities
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and ensure a smooth finish.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings, providing a safe and comfortable working environment.
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife, ensuring a seamless finish.
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required, to meet the highest standards of quality.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets, ensuring accurate and precise installation.
  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency, guaranteeing a strong and durable finish.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists, ensuring a stable and secure installation.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow the coat to dry, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
  • Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces, protecting against the elements.
  • Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring, providing a solid base for the drywall installation.
  • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets, ensuring safe and efficient installation.
  • Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings, and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath, providing a comfortable and quiet working environment.
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied, ensuring a strong and durable finish.
  • Install exterior and interior steel studs, providing a solid base for the drywall installation.
  • Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools, ensuring accurate and precise installation.
  • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation, providing a safe and comfortable working environment.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods, requiring physical stamina and endurance.
  • Physically demanding work, requiring the ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment.
