THE ROLE
The Project Coordination Specialist serves as the key individual accountable for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule, within financial constraints, and meet specified requirements. To fulfill these critical responsibilities, the Project Coordination Specialist will identify project needs and scope, secure necessary resources, and oversee the contributions of project team members. Effective management of project outputs, rigorous quality assurance, transparent communication with stakeholders, and regular updates to senior management are essential tasks throughout the project's duration. The Project Coordination Specialist will facilitate seamless communication among the Project, Reinforcing Detailer, Production, and Shipping teams. This role involves ensuring timely and precise detailing, adherence to schedules, and maintaining all necessary documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate effectively between site operations, detailing, production, and shipping across multiple projects.
- Analyze all contractual documents, scope of work, and the most recent drawings and amendments.
- Assess construction drawings against estimated drawings for any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the detailing department to develop and maintain the shop drawing schedule as needed.
- Evaluate shop drawings/detail sheets for general compliance and construction sequencing needs.
- Manage changes to contracts, ensuring that additional costs and credits are processed promptly.
- Participate in job site meetings as necessary for project progression.
- Retrieve and process all information from the detailing department for fabrication purposes.
- Develop and uphold all documentation required throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site visits as necessary to ensure quality control and adherence to schedules.
- Assist with progress billing, substantial completion, and project closure activities.
- Monitor the progress and quality of work performed by contractors.
- Generate and distribute project Requests for Information (RFIs), clarifications, and constructability issues.
- Review field inspection reports from consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare monthly project status reports for review and analysis.
- Execute the above functions across multiple projects efficiently.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Educational background in architecture or engineering is advantageous.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in project coordination or rebar labor.
- Proven track record in project delivery and effective project coordination methodologies.
- Comprehensive understanding of reinforcing steel, concrete structures, and concrete construction processes.
