As a Level Designer, you'll be responsible for crafting captivating and immersive environments that bring the game world to life. You'll work closely with artists, programmers, and other designers to ensure seamless gameplay experiences.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Conceptualize and Design: Develop compelling level layouts and structures that align with the game's artistic vision and narrative goals.
  • Prototype and Iterate: Utilize game engines and tools to create playable prototypes, testing and refining gameplay mechanics within your designed spaces.
  • Integration and Detailing: Populate levels with interactive elements, non-player characters (NPCs), events, and environmental storytelling details that enhance player immersion.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Effectively communicate your design ideas to the team, actively receiving and incorporating feedback from artists, programmers, and other designers.
  • Playtesting and Optimization: Participate in playtesting sessions, analyzing player behavior and iterating on levels to ensure a balanced and engaging experience.
Your Qualifications:
  • A college diploma in Game Design or a related field (an undergraduate degree is an asset).
  • Proven experience in video game level design, ideally within the AAA gaming industry.
  • Proficiency in using game engines (e.g., Unity or Unreal) and familiarity with 2D art tools (e.g., Photoshop) and 3D software (e.g., 3DS Max, Maya, or Sketchup).
  • Exceptional collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating immersive gaming experiences.
