Job Summary

Graymont Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at our Bedford plant in Monteregie, QC. As a key member of our maintenance leadership team, you will be responsible for coordinating and leading a team of maintenance tradespeople and specialists to ensure the effective maintenance of our quarry and plant facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency in maintenance operations.
  • Facilitate a positive and empowered team environment, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the maintenance team.
  • Monitor and review maintenance activities to ensure they are performed safely and efficiently, providing feedback and coaching as needed.
  • Act as a technical resource and coach to maintenance team members and peers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with production departments to ensure effective long- and short-term planning, scheduling, and process management.
  • Deploy personnel and resources to execute the weekly maintenance schedule, ensuring timely and effective completion of tasks.
  • Support the plant reliability program to enable short- and long-term success in proactive asset management.
  • Manage emergency maintenance activities, ensuring prompt and effective response to maintenance needs.
  • Effectively manage contractors on site, ensuring safe and high-quality work performance.
  • Participate in communication and coordination between maintenance, production, management, and other functional groups within Graymont Limited.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of maintenance operations and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Established track record of developing and maintaining a safe work culture.
  • Proven leadership skills, with ability to learn and work effectively in a team environment.
  • College or university degree in a related field, or journeyman with heavy industrial experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High aptitude in the use of various computer software, including JDE, Excel, Word, and other MS software, as well as experience with CMMS systems.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-paced environment.
