About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced District Traffic Supervisor to join our team at the Government of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our District Highway Operations Division, you will play a critical role in managing various programs, functions, and activities throughout our province.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the administration of regulatory and warning devices.
  • Represent the District on matters pertaining to Transportation Engineering.
  • Implement and manage specialized support for the District, including snow and ice control services, road maintenance and repair services.
  • Authorize approvals for the implementation of regulatory and warning devices.
Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field, with a minimum of six years of experience in a related role. A Traffic Engineering Technicians course at a recognized educational institution would be considered an asset.

The ideal candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of Motor Vehicle Act Laws, Public Highway Act, MUTCD-geometric design standard, traffic control manuals, and traffic operation manual. They will also have expertise in photography, surveying, and technical use of various Traffic Engineering Equipment.
