Job Summary
Seaspan is seeking a skilled Security Officer to join its Shipyards security team in North Vancouver. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our site, personnel, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Control access to the site, ensuring that visitors are properly screened and signed in/out.
- Conduct regular security patrols to identify and address potential security threats.
- Provide access to secure areas and facilities as needed.
- Offer first aid services to site personnel.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for security-related matters after hours.
Requirements
- Intermediate First Aid certification (an asset).
- Valid security worker's license.
- Valid driver's license.
- At least 4 years of experience in the security industry, preferably in a shipyard or marine environment.
- Successful completion of a criminal record check.
- Ability to obtain NATO clearance.
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in computer systems.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Compensation
The starting hourly rate is $28.34, increasing to $31.49 after the probationary period. Pay rates are determined by the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
