About the Role

Cowan Insurance Group is seeking a highly skilled Sales Research and Appointment Coordinator to join our Commercial Lines Sales Team. This role reports directly to the Commercial Sales Manager in Business Development and is responsible for identifying and pursuing sales opportunities, coordinating sales appointments, and providing support to the sales teams to drive results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the sales strategy of the Commercial Lines and Group Benefits business, focusing on mid to large organizations.
  • Research and identify prospective clients with existing business relationships and connections, and plan strategies for next steps.
  • Work with current staff and centers of influence to identify opportunities and document strategies.
  • Collaborate with senior management on segment strategies to grow brand recognition and net new clients within core industry sectors.
  • Identify new internal and external referral sources and centers-of-influence.
  • Coordinate with Commercial Account Executives and Group Benefits Consultants to schedule new client meetings.
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs.
  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients when appropriate.
  • Build long-term relationships both within Cowan and in the community.
Requirements
  • Proven working experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Executive, or similar role.
  • Knowledge of Insurance and/or Group Benefits is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce).
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and manage time effectively.
  • Analytical skills to translate data into actionable information.
  • BSc/BA in business administration, sales, or relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience with ZoomInfo is an asset.
