Job Title: Field Sales Associate

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Sales Associate to join our team at Barry Callebaut. As a Field Sales Associate, you will be responsible for promoting and supporting the growth of our Gourmet Sales through our distribution partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with indirect customers, analyzing and monitoring their needs to provide a commercial value proposition.
  • Support and assist in the development and planning of sales strategies, sales forecasts, customer service strategies, and channel promotions.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to execute activities that promote consumption in end-user customers and through distributors.
  • Implement the tracking and implementation of indirect customer and distributor accounts through the execution of the Winning portfolio for Canada and Core Basket by segment.
  • Assist in the development of distributor relationships and assist in the annual objectives, joint projects, and activity grids as part of the Gourmet Canada value proposition.
  • Promote sales tools with clients/distributors related to the commercial partners platform and synergies with the Chocolate Academy.
  • Work closely with culinary schools, influencers, and partner organizations to promote a balanced, regional, and multi-segmented business acquisition approach.
  • Work with the Senior Sales Manager and Barry Callebaut's Marketing & Chocolate Academy teams to organize demos, trade shows, Chef Events, and all marketing activities happening in Ontario.
  • Pursue sales leads, visit existing and new potential customers, respond to customer inquiries, assess customer needs, and suggest appropriate products, services, and distributors.
  • Negotiate prices and delivery times within limits of authority and conclude sales orders to meet revenue targets.
  • Identify, research, and contact prospective customers to build positive relationships that will generate sustainable existing and future sales.
  • Refer sales leads, customer feedback, and information on market intelligence activity to appropriate contacts within Barry Callebaut.

About You:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Hospitality Industry, Food Science, or similar.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience in the food industry.
  • Experienced salesperson in selling food ingredients for bakeries, pastry shops, chocolatiers, dairy, confectionery, and large food processing companies in Mexico.
  • Experience in managing distributor channels.
  • Proven track record in sales and business, strong negotiation skills with a history of high-impact sales in terms of revenue and volume.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all business partners.
  • Goal-oriented with strong relationship-building skills and the ability to interact with a variety of internal and external clients.
  • Sales philosophy focused on service and added value, not just ingredients/transactional sales.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite and Google.
  • English – fluent.
  • Ability to travel intra-provincial and extra-provincial, as needed.
