Position Title: Legal Assistant
Location: Brampton, Ontario
Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing support throughout all phases of legal proceedings and Tribunal/Board hearings.
  • Managing the calendar of the Senior Partner.
  • Organizing client-specific documentation.
  • Opening, closing, and maintaining legal files.
  • Maintaining an organized filing system.
  • Preparing, formatting, and editing legal correspondence and documents.
  • Communicating effectively with opposing counsel, clients, courts, tribunals, and boards.
  • Coordinating and scheduling meetings, conference calls, and virtual meetings.
  • Preparing mail and courier packages.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a post-secondary Law Clerk Diploma or Legal Assistant Certificate program.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in litigation support within a law office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Kofax Power PDF, and Dropbox.
  • Experience with PC Law, including docketing and billing.
  • Familiarity with Worldox document management system is advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Required Skills:
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks to meet strict deadlines.
  • Capability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Professional and efficient response to changes in schedules and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
