Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Constituency Assistant – Social Media and Communications. This role will be responsible for managing and maintaining our social media presence, creating engaging content, and providing exceptional customer service to constituents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to increase engagement and reach a wider audience;
  • Collaborate with the constituency team to create and disseminate press releases, news articles, and other external communications;
  • Manage and maintain our Members' website, ensuring it is up-to-date and reflects the latest news and developments;
  • Support the Member's advertising strategy, including planning and executing campaigns;
  • Provide exceptional customer service to constituents, responding to inquiries and resolving concerns in a timely and professional manner;
  • Assist in the planning and execution of community events, outreach activities, and official visits.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in communications, journalism, business administration, or a related field;
  • Experience working in an office setting, providing communications and media support;
  • Knowledge of media relations management principles, Canadian politics, and current events;
  • Experience in planning and maintaining a brand through multiple social media platforms;
  • Ability to establish and manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Assets
  • Experience volunteering or working for a political organization;
  • Experience planning events and supporting project coordination;
  • French or Portuguese language proficiency;
  • Knowledge of the riding of Davenport.
