Job Title: Senior Internal Communications Advisor

Medavie Blue Cross is seeking a highly skilled Senior Internal Communications Advisor to join our Talent and Communications team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in developing and executing internal communications strategies that drive business objectives and engage employees across our two operating companies, Medavie Blue Cross and Medavie Health Services.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement internal communications strategies that align with corporate priorities and objectives.
  • Provide strategic advice and support to senior leaders and business partners on internal communications initiatives.
  • Contribute to the evolution of our corporate digital strategy and ensure effective communication across all channels.
  • Develop and report on key performance indicators for internal communications activities.
  • Oversee the creation and dissemination of internal communications content, including email, speaking remarks, and presentations.
  • Recommend best practices for communicating change initiatives and manage the internal cascade process to effectively share relevant corporate news.
  • Support the design and translation requirements for internal communications needs.
Required Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field, and five+ years of related experience.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, including editing, proofreading, and attention to detail.
  • A storyteller with the ability to distill complex information into engaging, informative pieces for employees.
  • Up-to-date understanding of innovations in internal communications practices and experience using corporate Intranet software.
  • Strong understanding of change management theory and practice.
  • Ability to deal with highly confidential and sensitive subjects/issues in a professional manner.

  • A self-starter and problem-solver who works well independently and as part of a virtual team.
  • Understanding of best practices to communicate across a diverse, hybrid employee-base.
  • Advanced skills with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Webex.
