As a Senior Environmental Engineering Specialist, you will report directly to the Section Leader of Environmental Technology. This role involves both domestic and international travel, depending on project requirements and professional development opportunities. You will engage in advancing technologies related to water treatment within the mining sector. A solid understanding of both passive and active water treatment methods, including membrane and biological processes, is essential.
To excel in this position, you should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to foster relationships across multidisciplinary teams and convey critical information and recommendations effectively at all organizational levels. You will be part of a highly skilled team that operates collaboratively to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities:- Act as a proactive safety leader, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
- Develop and promote the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Management System and policies at various locations.
- Provide guidance on environmental technology projects throughout their lifecycle and optimize chosen solutions.
- Lead and implement advanced water treatment research essential for project advancement, utilizing available resources.
- Offer technical expertise as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to various sites and project teams; assist with regulatory reporting and internal governance.
- Collaborate with external networks to develop innovative environmental solutions.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our environmental technology project portfolio.
- A university degree in Chemical, Process, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline is required. A Master's or PhD in any of these fields is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- 5-7 years of experience in water treatment and its practical applications in an industrial setting.
- Registered Professional Engineer with EGBC or eligible for registration.
- Proficient in statistical experimental design and conducting experiments to assess and improve water chemistry, biogeochemical, and/or bioprocess models.
- Demonstrated capability to efficiently lead projects and coordinate logistics involving internal and external partners, including modeling teams, process engineers, consultants, and academic institutions.

Salary Range: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
The actual base salary offered will be based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies, while also considering internal equity.
