About the Role

AltaGas is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Transformational Finance Leader to drive the achievement of business outcomes within the Core Transactional Finance Functional Program. This senior leader will play a pivotal role in driving change within the Finance organization, overseeing and implementing strategic initiatives that enhance business operations, foster innovation, and achieve short and long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Core Transactional Finance Vision, aligning key finance stakeholders on a target state operating model, architecture, and reporting structure.

  • Champion process efficiency and effectiveness, aligning target state processes across finance for in-scope Core transactional Finance Processes.

  • Collaborate with strategic partners to deliver on the CTF vision, working closely with solution implementation partners and the broader CTF program leadership to deliver effective work products.

  • Lead the day-to-day leadership of the program, bringing relevant finance stakeholders to the table and ensuring key requirements and functional needs are addressed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, MIS, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or related experience.

  • Preference towards accounting accreditation (CPA, CFA, or equivalent) in Canada or the United States.

  • Minimum of ten years of related experience working in Finance leadership roles, preferably with experience in Finance system implementations, target operating model design, chart of accounts design, system architecture, and master data management.

  • Previous experience leading a large system transformation similar to this project or related experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience working with 3rd party vendor support resources to determine the appropriate build versus buy strategy.

  • Utility and energy industry experience is preferred, but not required.

  • Ability to influence without formal authority, must be able to effectively interact with and communicate with business partners at every level throughout the organization.

  • Preferred candidates will have knowledge and/or experience working with both waterfall and agile delivery approaches.

  • Superior organizational, professional presentation, time management, and prioritization skills.

  • Expertise and experience with HCM, ERPs, and Financial Systems, particularly in data migration activities and designing integrations with other enterprise systems is an advantage.
